SO₂ Source
Liquid SO₂ can be produced from dedicated sulfur combustion or from a suitable SO₂-rich process stream. The front end must establish gas strength, oxygen content, moisture and impurity limits before compression and condensation.

Liquefaction
The liquefaction system combines compression, intercooling and condensation at conditions selected from the required product temperature, available cooling utilities and storage pressure. Refrigeration is introduced where ambient cooling cannot meet the target.
