Process Route
Liquid SO₃ production starts with a controlled SO₃-bearing gas stream and recovers product by staged cooling and condensation. The selected pressure and terminal temperature determine condensation duty and product recovery.
Thermodynamic Basis
The design must be developed from the actual SO₃ concentration, total pressure and condensable impurities. Pressure increase can raise condensation temperature, while deeper cooling increases recovery but also increases crystallization and refrigeration concerns.

Design Focus
